As far as books on animation go, I've yet to find one more satisfying than The Animator's Survival Kit By Richard Williams. Art director for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" who studied under Disney's Nine Old Men, Williams has fantastic insight into the workings of animation what makes it work.
I'm being dead serious when I say that having this book and working well with it will put you in a much better place as an animator then you would be without it.
